Eric Ewing is the founder and principal of Ewing Advisory Group. He advises principals, family offices, founders, growth-company leaders, and their counsel on security decisions that are personal, operational, or difficult to delegate cleanly.
The premise is simple. The principal or leadership team should be able to govern security before risk turns into unnecessary activity, excessive coverage, or a stack of vendors without clear oversight.
BACKGROUND
Eric brings more than 30 years across military intelligence, law enforcement, special operations, executive protection, security program leadership, crisis and incident response, operational readiness, and board-level advisory. That range is the point. The questions that reach EAG rarely sit inside one function.
He holds a master’s degree in Security Management with a concentration in Organizational Security from the University of Denver and completed Wharton’s Security Executive Education. He held the ASIS International Certified Protection Professional designation from 2006 through 2025.
HOW THE WORK IS DONE
Effective advisory work is not more protection, more process, or more vendors by default. It is a judgment about what requires structure, what should be delegated, and where the current arrangement has become too fragile for the risk it is carrying.
Eric provides independent security counsel. He is not a protective team, an investigator, a guard service, or a substitute security department. Clients retain EAG to help identify and assess risk, decide what leadership should oversee, what a licensed specialist should carry out, and what should not be built.
SELECTIVE BY DESIGN
Engagements are selective, confidential, and built around fit. The practice is suited to principals, family office leaders, founders, growth-company leaders, and counsel who need senior security judgment before they build a function, expand coverage, or formalize the vendors they already have.
